Summer Camp 2012 Information
Pratt Nature Center Summer Camp is a coed day camp for young people ages 4-14. counselor-in-training (CIT) opportunities exist for teens from 15-16 years of age.
Each camp day is filled with a wide variety of activities: hikes, outdoor exploration, games, crafts, songs and special events. There are special guest presenters, theme days and all-camp events; blending great camp traditions with exciting new offerings. Each week offers a new mix of activities providing variety for those youngsters wishing to attend for the entire summer.
Our experienced counselors are young adults who have been selected for their special talents and experience. They are enthusiastic, creative and, most important, enjoy working with children.
We strive to provide a safe, positive and exciting atmosphere in which young people can learn to appreciate and enjoy nature. Activities are designed to be inclusive, non-competitive and encourage respect for others, oneself and the environment.
Camp runs from 9:30 to 3:00 Monday - Friday.
Adventure Team Campers camp out on Thurdays nights, weather permitting,
pick up is Friday morning.

Registration
The camp is licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Health.
The Pratt Center is designated a National Environmental Study Area by the U.S. Department of the Interior.

Nature Nuts (4-5 year olds)
Explorers (entering grades 1 & 2)
Pathfinders (entering grades 3 & 4)
A-Team (entering grades 5-9)
CITs (Counselors In Training - entering grades 10-12 )
We are a 201-acre wildlife preserve and environmental education center. What a great place for a camp! The land is diverse - with a mountain, forests, meadows, wildlife, gardens, a stream, a pond, and wetlands, providing wonderful opportunities for outdoor fun, discovery and adventure!
