The Pratt Nature Center Summer Day Camp

o program is more symbolic of The Pratt Nature Center's long relationship with Litchfield County's youth than our Summer Day Camp. For years, students between the ages of 4 and 14, both boys and girls have been enjoying time on our scenic 193-acre nature preserve while they learn about nature, the environment and themselves.

Each camp day is filled with a wide variety of activities: hikes, outdoor exploration, games, crafts, songs and special events. There are special guest presenters, theme days and all-camp events, blending great camp traditions with exciting new offerings. Each week offers a new mix of activities providing variety for those youngsters wishing to attend for the entire summer. Summer day camp is truly the highlight of the year for the Pratt Nature Center staff, as well, as it is a chance for us to enjoy time teaching and enjoying the laughs and smiles of great kids while showing off all the wonders of the Center.

Our counselors are carefully selected for their special talents and experience. They are enthusiastic, creative, mature and enjoy working with children. We strive to provide a safe, positive and exciting atmosphere in which young people can learn to appreciate and enjoy nature.

Activities are designed to be inclusive and non-competitive and to encourage respect for others, oneself and the environment.
